Paul Axelsen

House Fellow

I have been a Faculty Fellow in Fisher Hassenfeld College House since 2012, and on the Penn faculty since 1993 as a member of several departments in the School of Medicine – Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Biophysics, and Medicine (Division of Infectious Diseases). My primary research interests are computational drug design and the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease. I have also launched a business venture involving a new approach to skin disinfection. My wife, Becky, and I met 30 years ago while working at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Since then, we’ve also worked in the jungles of Papua New Guinea, the cities of India, and the Weizmann Institute in Israel.
