Welcome to Penn and your new home in Fisher Hassenfeld College House.

As the first residential buildings on Penn’s West Philadelphia campus, Fisher Hassenfeld College House has a long history of being a center of the student community. Our small halls facilitate students getting to know each and establishing life long friendships and our great outdoor space provides opportunities for students to relax, play, study and observe the many squirrels frolicking under our impressive English elm tree.

Our residential faculty and staff provide a great array of programs designed to help you meet other students, make new friends and expand your horizons. From our faculty master study breaks to late night chat advising, pancake and hall dinners, reading day massages, career and academic counseling, ‘Paper Doctor’ sessions, quad-wide weekly “Dinner With Interesting People”, informal discussions and residential living programs, we strive to help members of the Fisher Hassenfeld community have fun and learn through interacting with one another and the greater Penn and Philadelphia communities.

We are an innovative college house that uses student ideas to develop new activities, like our ‘Borrow a Bike” program, video editing and media facilities, extensive DVD and board game libraries, music rooms, movie nights, fire pit, seasonal barbeques and smores ‘n more, Sunday brunches, major dinners, sporting equipment, intramural sporting program, Fall Festival, holiday celebrations and more. Along with our house council, we sponsor many activities every week that range from informal discussions with faculty, invited national experts, community service programs, in house courses, informal house events and social, sporting and cultural programs throughout Philadelphia. Listservs, websites and blogs keep residents abreast of the FH activities.

Fisher Hassenfeld residential faculty, house dean and residential and graduate advisor staff seek out interactions with students and are always accessible. Together we strive to create an engaging, comfortable, intellectually exciting and socially enjoyable and community and home for you.

We look forward to getting to meeting and getting to know you and to you becoming an active member of the Fisher Hassenfeld family.
